10 and half months
Kate has been an angel this week. She loves crawling and has been so happy and cute! This is amazing considering her 4 upper teeth are breaking through. I think for Kate, the moving down in the gums is the worst bit. For the past few weeks she has been very clingy and easily upset. Today she was a bit testy after swimming but sure enough when I felt in her mouth one of them had actually broken through the gums. I just love it when Kate is happy. She is so much fun. She pulls all sorts of faces and makes all sorts of weird noises. You look at her at times and think "Look at that angelic little girl" and then she will screw up her face and snort continuously out her nose, shattering any illusions you may have.
Aiden also loves crawling. He can get up on his knees to reach things. I bet, once again he will do all the practise but it will be Kate who stands up first. Both of them can sit up of their own accord now. Aiden is now able to express himself better, something to do with being able to get around the place I think. He crawls over to us and tries to climb up our legs.
Aaron, in the early hours of the morning, will wake with a start and grab me to stop me from falling off the bed. I wasn't actually planning on falling off the bed anytime soon but in his sleepy dream-like state he can't grasp this concept. He thinks I am Kate and that I am about to roll off the bed (given that Kate never rolls I wonder where this thought comes from). If this continues I am thinking a swift push so Aaron falls out of bed himself may be the best solution because at 3am I am not very forgiving!

11 months old yesterday
Aaron applied for and was granted leave from the House of Nappies to go on a fishing trip with his friend. Aunty Georgie and Peter came to stay for the weekend. We had a great time and Georgie even came to swimming lessons with us.
Kate now has 2 and a half of her top teeth through. She is just waiting for the eye teeth to come through properly. It changes the way she looks when she smiles! (That's a rather obvious statement)
We have had some sleep issues resurfacing here which may well be to do with teething, who knows? It's always a guessing game. I also think it has been to do with hunger. Aiden will not take a bottle and relies solely on Mummy's milk. I think my supply has dropped a bit and it isn't enough to sustain him through the night. Two times this past week I have had to feed him in the early hours of the morning. Last night I took my drugs for increasing supply and Aiden had a good solid nursing session. I had to wake him up this morning at 7am. This could also be due to the fact that he only had 40 minutes sleep for the whole day yesterday (where normally they have 2 sleeps of at least an hour).
Kate's been not too bad although she has had her moments. She refused a morning nap 2 days in a row which prompted me to wonder if we were only going to have one daytime sleep now. This would complicate matters as Aiden was sleeping for both of his. I decided she is too young for this and put her down at normal nap time. She has slipped back into the routine nicely. Aiden skipped his morning nap yesterday however today they are both currently sleeping soundly for their morning sleep.
They are so incredibly entertaining and becoming more so each day. When they sit in their high chairs to eat we all start snorting at each other. They love to do this and it just cracks us up. Of course the minute you bring out the video camera they stop and start smiling. We also blow raspberries at each other. You can imagine what family meals look like in the Hendry household.
Life is good!

11 months 1 week
Today Mum and I took Kate and Aiden to the shops like we do every Saturday (in fact I still go out every day when I am not working). We put them in their own trolleys for only the second time and they loved it! Kate giggled and laughed the whole way round the store. It felt weird to look and act like a singleton Mum. Soon I'll have to try the proper twin trolley which has two seats in the one trolley.
Aiden has the most amazing attention span and attention to detail. It continues to grow. He will spend half an hour examining every part of the phone (which we have to switch off of course as he would probably ring China by mistake). He'll turn it over and push each button. He never puts anything in his mouth. Half way through his examination Kate will come flying over, grab the phone, slobber all over it, lose interest and fling it away, all with Aiden protesting forlornly. Then she will grab his hair and pull him over, just for good measure. She'll grin like a smug cat....her work here is done.
Every now and then Aiden will clobber her when she least expects it...revenge is sweet.
There can be a floor full of toys but invariably they want the same thing at the same time.
After a week or so of waking at night Aiden appears to be back on track and is sleeping through. They are both taking excellent daytime naps too.
